Ready for 2024 at Espasa Studio

Dear artist,

I hope you start 2024 full of hope for the year ahead. On my side, I couldn’t wait to finish 2023.

In 2023 I said “yes” to everything that came my way and I ended up the year stressed and exhausted. I also was doing everything in a rush, because I didn’t have enough time to dedicate to each job, project, task… so I was doing things half way, and that gave me a feeling of failure.

But from each situation there is a lesson to be learned, and believe me, I have learned mine!

I have also tried lots of things, and now I know what I want to do and what I don’t. But more fluff, and let’s get to the point: what is going on at Espasa Studio in 2024?

WORKSHOPS

I love doing workshops and getting to know all of you, and I want to make sure that I give as much value as possible. I have tried to create lots of different workshops and offers, and one thing I want to do in 2024 is to focus only on painting and drawing.

I want to perfect my technique and ideas, so I am doing a little pause on offering lots of workshops.

But for those who want to do something creative this January, I have got 2 workshops planned for the end of the month: Coffee painting with Move Nordic and Organic pigments at Guildford Institute ( see more information on my workshop page here). I will also be hosting watercolour workshops for Cranleigh Creatives in the next months.

Wine painting workshop for

the ladies of Cranleigh Creative

I will planning workshops for Spring and Summer, the more popular months and where the weather is best to come to the studio. I have lots of ideas but I don’t want to rush and I want to think them through :)

I would love to host something for Easter if people is interested and I always welcome ideas and suggestions.

Don’t forget, you can always book a private workshop with me or a private lesson in Shere or in Guilfdord. Send me an email and we will talk details! :)

MARKETS & PRODUCTS

I didn’t have the best results when it came to markets last year, but I decided to give one more chance, maybe do less and have a different approach to these: I will see it as an opportunity to promote my business and to get to know people. Some people has come to visited me in the past and asked me questions, so I will make it almost an “open day” to come and see my stuff, my paintings and of course, if you want, buy something from me :)

My next market will be in Shere, at the Village Hall, on Sunday 24th of March, where I will be selling my paintings and jesmonite pieces ( I will create some Easter decorations as well!).

I will keep producing jesmonite pieces this year as I really enjoy doing them, but I won’t forget about creating my cards and prints, as I would love to push those as well. And hopefully, I can manage to find somewhere to print some notebooks as this is something I have been wanting to do for years! Espasa Notebooks is a must for 2024!

More products to come to Espasa in 2024

ART EXHIBITION

This year I said to myself I want to focus on my own work: I want to create paintings that I am proud of and I can submit to exhibitions. And for that, I need time in my studio! So I am glad I clearer up some space in my calendar and I will be focusing on that, and I will be sharing the process with you.

I have actually got one art exhibition already planned this March at Guilfdord Institute with another artist friend, so I will be sharing more of this on instagram and here. There will be a private view of the exhibition, and I want to invite you all! I will keep you posted with dates.

So this it, that is the direction I am taking for 2024 and I will be sharing my adventures and misadventures with you, and hopefully you will join me :)

Your artist,

Laura
