Pour-painting workshop

Last Saturday I hosted the first pour-painting workshop at Espasa.

I was a bit nervous as this was the first workshop I did with liquid paint, so I wanted to make sure everything would go to plan.

I like to include all the materials on my workshops, so the attendees only have to bring themselves and not have to worry about anything or forgetting any material.

So I got all the materials ready: liquid paint, acrylic medium, gloves - should I have told them to wear old clothes or aprons? - knife palettes, straws, cups… everything was ready for them to come to the studio and face the blank canvas.

I first told them about the pour-painting technique and different ways they could create different patterns: I did a little demonstration, asked them to pick between 3-4 colours ( more can get a bit messy specially if you are new to the technique).

And then I told them: “Off you go!”

They were hesitant at first, deciding which colours to pick.

I advised them which colours would work best together, show them examples of my work and then they lost the fear of the white canvas and started pouring paint!

The hesitation left them and you could see the excitement on their faces! And it seemed like they had a lot of fun 🙃

Below you can see the results! They were so proud of their work, and so happy they took take home a finished painting that they created!

If you want to try this fun technique, I am hosting another one on the 24th of March and the tickets are already going!

You can book your spot on the form below.

Hope to see you in class :)
