9 reasons why to join the online painting lessons

Have you ever tried an online lesson? I guess we all did during these 2 crazy years and we all have mastered Zoom, Google Teams and tried all the filters and backgrounds possible.

I think online lessons are a great way to learn and do activities in a very easy and comfortable way. And also, they are way more affordable!

I started my online painting lessons back when the pandemic started, first only with 4 friends and then it grew into groups of 13 people! I couldn’t believe it! I had really nice feedback from them, and I enjoy them a lot, so I would like to share with you some reasons why my online lessons can still be a good fit for you too.

Ready?

9 reasons why to join the online painting lessons

1. You will learn art techniques and a bit of art history.

In my lessons, l always talk about the technique we are going to use as well as any tricks or advice to make sure your painting looks its best. Depending on the theme I am covering, I will also talk about different artists and share some art history with you.

We did a couple of lessons inspired by Picasso and Frida Kahlo and it was good fun!

2. You will meet other nice people like yourself. Mean people aren’t allowed in my lessons.

l honestly mean it. I would never allow bad behaviour in my lessons. The most important thing in my lessons is the welfare of my students. That is my number 1 commitment.

I always make sure everyone feels comfortable in my lessons, that is why you always have the option to engage with the rest of the students or keep your camera off and just follow the lesson without needing to socialise. It is completely up to you, whatever feels best :)

3. You can join from anywhere in the world, we are international people!

You don’t even need to leave your house. you can join in your pyjamas, from your bedroom, wherever you want! Just make sure you have all the tools ready with you and you have an internet connection.I am based in the UK and I get people from France, South Africa, Cyprus, Spain to join, you just need to make sure you know the time difference depending on where you live.

4. You don’t need any entry requirements or be an expert. All levels are welcome!
All levels are welcome to my lessons. Even if it is the first time you hold a brush. In my lessons, there are 2 cameras: one where you can see me talking and the other one where you will see the work progress. You will be able to follow all the steps of the process, so you won’t get lost. And if you get lost, you can always ask me and I will repeat the step to make sure you succeed with your painting.

5.You will be part of a little happy community.

Everyone is welcome, any nationality, ages - my youngest student is 4 years and she joins with her mum! - so you won’t feel out of place. You only have to share one common interest which is art.

So far there has been more women than men in my lessons, so come on girls bring your boys along! All genders are welcome, obviously!

6. You will find time for yourself to paint, it is the perfect excuse!

I like to talk about my lessons like "you" time: it is time you decided to put aside for yourself, to do an activity you never have time for.

Booking one of my lessons symbolises this compromise with yourself: to join a great activity for your mind and soul that you love and you were whiling to do for a long time. No more excuses! Time for you to enjoy, you deserve it! :)

7. You will feel great afterwards.

I am going to let my students speak for themselves, this is some of the beautiful feedback I had from my lessons:

8. You will gain confidence again in your painting.

My step by step process makes it very easy to follow the lessons, making sure you that by the end of the class you have a complete drawing. However, the painting doesn’t have to end, you can keep working on it if you like and improve it with all the techniques I will share with you. You will take your knowledge with you and apply it to your other works.

9. You get to hear all the stupid things I have to say, lucky you!

I apologise in advance! Basically in the lessons, I share tips and art techniques, but I want also to create a relaxed atmosphere, like if we are a group of friends who just decide to meet online and paint together.

So that includes me rambling about and sharing any adventure that has happened at the Studio recently - like the time the way to the studio was flooded due to heavy rains! - and I am more than happy when someone else decides to share their ideas or stories. We always end up laughing and it makes a very nice time together.

I really enjoy the painting lessons. They gave me life and hope during the uncertain times we lived these 2 years and I hope you will enjoy them too!
